INTRODUCTION TO ARCHERY AND HUNT PREP FUN SHOOT 2026

Event available to youths 8-17yrs of age and their families. All family members allowed to participate in the activities.

Location : Oak Ridge Archery , Lago Vista Tx

Gates open 8am

9am introductions and safety meeting

9:30am Shotgun Start for 18 target fun shoot on Upper Trail System ( 3D targets – deer, turkeys, pigs, bears, sheep, elk etc… ) Target stations will include standing , seated, kneeling, ground blinds, terrain and woods etc…

AND

9:30am Introduction to Archery Class and Instructions on Training Range . Class, instruction and equipment provided by TYHP staff

Also available during the event

Ladder Stand / Tripod Safety and Fall Protection instruction provided by TYHP staff at separate location on range including shooting from the stand at 3D deer target. Available from 9:30am until 12:30pm

Shot placement instruction and hunting from a ground blind instruction by TYHP staff

12pm All score cards from fun shoot turned in. As this is a fun shoot and designed to promote ethical bowhunting, 1 point will be given for each 8pt or higher scored arrow. Points translate into raffle tickets for prizes at the end of event.

12:30pm Presentations by TYHP and by Oak Ridge Archery. Prizes provided by and awarded by TYHP staff and Oak Ridge Archery after presentations.

Concessions for lunch, drinks etc available on site. Restrooms onsite

Event closes between 1pm and 2pm
